Bride and groom outside the Georgian Terrace Hotel on their wedding dayWhat are your hours of operation?

We are available Tuesday to Saturday between 10am and 6pm by appointment only. I always advise customers to book well in advance as we are often on location and sometimes cannot respond to your call at short notice.

What is your philosophy regarding Wedding Photography?

My approach to wedding photography is that of a storyteller, so before we capture the story I spend some time with you and your partner to find out about you, your interests and your style. I work with the bride and groom, the how, what and why helps me but sitting with you, listening and observing your body language speaks even louder. The way you connect without making eye contact, how she paints in the subtle shades of the story as he pauses for her to do so.  As a Charlotte wedding photographer our initial communications will tell me if we are a good fit for each other. It also helps me immensely as I can understand both your likes and dislikes and ensure that any specific requirements are incorporated into the photography.

A wedding photographer is more than someone who just shows up at your wedding with camera equipment. I do whatever is necessary to capture the best story for each couple. Including but not limited to sewing the dress, driving the bride to her wedding, consoling the bride and coordinating if I must.

Are you a full-time professional photographer?

Yes, I have been a full-time professional photographer for over 15 years and I have photographed a number of weddings for many happy clients. In addition to this, I am skilled in family portraits, engagement photography, portrait photography and fine art techniques.

Are you a photojournalist or a traditional type photographer?

I think that the modern-day wedding photographer needs to be versatile, as one style certainly doesn’t fit all. I provide a truly custom experience as I understand that the same style doesn’t suit every couple. Adapting my style and showing flexibility means that I can expertly capture the essence of luxury weddings for the modern bride.

I may apply a documentary/reportage approach to cover a section or a substantial part of the wedding day but during the pre-wedding preparations we may adopt high fashion and editorial techniques. Some of the more detailed shots throughout the day may require something more artistic, but I will use my intuition and photography skills to capture each moment perfectly and I use whatever style is necessary to document the day, and the story as it unfolds.

Do you have membership in any professional associations?

I am extremely committed to keeping up to date with the latest developments in the photography industry which is reflected through my professional memberships. Currently I have memberships with the following; Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI)

Do you have liability insurance and business license?

Yes. I possess all of the necessary insurances and licenses which can be viewed on request.

Do you have wedding photography packages?

We certainly do. After 15 years in the industry, I know that each wedding event is different so we have a range of packages to suit every budget and requirement from the basic through to the advanced. If there isn’t a photography package that fits your requirements, please contact me and we can design your own to suit.

When should we retain your services?

I always advise clients to book as far in advance as you can to avoid disappointment. Often as soon as you have booked the date and venue you can book us in for your photography

Do you take bridal portraits?

Frequently asked questions about: The Wedding Day

Who will photograph my wedding?

I am the lead photographer on all my weddings.

Do you have an assistant/second photographer?

If there is a requirement for more than one photographer we can provide additional support as required.

Do you use professional photography equipment and is there backup.

Yes, I always use the latest photography equipment, the Canon professional range with a minimum of two digital camera bodies/flashes and a wide assortment of lenses. All cameras have the ability to carry and we utilize multiple memory storage devices on wedding day.

At what point before the wedding will photography begin?

We recommend that photography begins two hours before the wedding, however as with most things with our service, this too is customizable, so it can start whenever you want it to.

Is there a limit on the number of pictures you take at me wedding?

No, the number of pictures we take and subsequently the number of proof (previews) is determined by how much is happening at your wedding and the time of coverage. On average a couple will see 500-1000 previews.

I have ideas on what I want from my photographer, are you open to suggestions?

Yes, I always work with clients to gather as much information as I can on their specific requirements as it is their day so however they would like the day to be captured is entirely up to the client. I do recommend that we set up a few meetings before the wedding so we can discuss this in more detail so on the day you can enjoy the occasion rather than worrying about photographs.

Can my guests take pictures at the wedding?

Absolutely, however we request that during the session immediately after the wedding ceremony that NO ONE is allowed to take pictures but us. We will be working very quickly because of limited time and don’t need any distractions.

How long will you be at our wedding?

The package you choose or designs, dictate the coverage time, however additional coverage time may be purchased.
