The basic training connection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Long before their picturesque Piedmont Park and Woodruff Park engagement photography session, Atlanta transplants Razzilee and Joshua met during Army Basic Training. They stayed in touch through social media for four years, fostering a connection that would eventually blossom into a deep romantic relationship. Their first date was special, attending a UGA Bulldogs football game, courtesy of the Georgia Army National Guard. From that day on, they have been inseparable.<\/p>\n\n\n

From Basic Training to a Heartfelt Proposal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Marriage was a topic they discussed occasionally, and the anticipation began to build. After two months of military training, Razzilee returned home, eager for familiar comforts like sushi, her own bed, and, most importantly, Joshua. She sensed that a proposal was imminent, especially given Joshua’s nervousness. Surprisingly, the proposal didn’t occur at the airport, despite her expectations after such a long separation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day, they planned to satisfy her sixty-day craving for sushi. In her words, the proposal unfolded as follows: \u201cAfter our food arrived, Josh held my hands, looked me in the eyes, and said, ‘I can’t do this anymore.’ I was very confused. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said ‘yes’ of course! I didn’t cry, but I smiled for almost three hours straight.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Piedmont Park Atlanta engagement photography session<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our couple wanted their engagement photography session to reflect their lifestyle. They chose Piedmont Park for the first phase of the photography session. We started at the Peace Monument at Piedmont Park and got some beautiful, moody, romantic images. However Razzilee\u2019s favorites are the pictures beneath the tulip magnolia. The grass seemed carpeted by the large purple, pink, and white blossoms of the Mulan trees, also known as saucer magnolias. The photographs from above look almost dreamlike. They then donned their workout gear and had some fun. The midtown Atlanta skyline from the soccer fields provided an impressive backdrop as they went through their workout routine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For their engagement photography session, Razzilee and Joshua wanted to showcase their lifestyle and love in a meaningful setting. They chose Piedmont Park for the first phase of their shoot. Starting at the Peace Monument, we captured stunning, moody, and romantic images. However, Razzilee\u2019s favorites are the photos taken beneath the tulip magnolia trees. The grass seemed carpeted by large purple, pink, and white blossoms from the Mulan trees, also known as saucer magnolias. The aerial photographs look almost dreamlike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In their workout gear, the couple had some fun, with the Midtown Atlanta skyline providing an impressive backdrop as they went through their workout routine on the soccer fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nighttime Portraits at Woodruff Park<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The engagement session concluded on the streets around Woodruff Park in downtown Atlanta. We captured tender, romantic portraits of the couple as twilight gave way to the streetlights at Five Points in the city. Like Piedmont Park, Woodruff Park, though small, provides a photographer with many different backdrops for photos. It is an excellent engagement and wedding photography option, from the park’s greenery to the fountains and cityscape backdrop of the commercial buildings.
Razzilee and Joshua will exchange their marriage vows later this year. We are honored to be their engagement photographers and look forward to documenting their wedding day story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
