Candice’s dad escorted her into the opulent Georgian Ballroom at the Biltmore Atlanta on wedding day. He was emotional but his pride very evident. She was a mix of nerves, excitement and happiness as she seemly glide to her eagerly waiting groom. Perched atop the platform he looked at his soon to be bride as she clutched her father’s arm. To think that, that chance meeting three years earlier in Chicago would lead to this moment.
Candice wore a sleeveless white Matthew Christopher ‘Brielle’ trumpet wedding gown and Nina NY ‘Vinnie’ crystal embellished sandals. She looked stunningly beautiful, her face betraying her every emotion. She smiles then waves as she fights back tears of joy. As the aisle ran out she looks up at her soon to be husband she bows her head. She was fighting emotions that her expression could no longer hide. Her dad smiles, rubs her clutching arm as if to re-assure his baby girl, it’s going to be ok. Matthew would later write about seeing her today “she looked gorgeous and very happy, it made me smile.”
During the cocktail hour, their guests dined on stuffed cherry tomatoes filled with herbed boursin cheese, garnished with bacon, celery leaves & a squeeze shot of Bloody Mary, Chicken pot-stickers with soy dipping sauce, crab cakes with red pepper aioli on a corn tortilla round. While the guests enjoyed their appetizers the photographers and party had some fun in the courtyard garden taking pictures. Then it was time for their reception and party to begin.
The Biltmore Atlanta wedding reception
The couple entered their reception in the Georgian Ballroom at Biltmore Atlanta to loud applause and cheers. Their family and friends welcomed the new couple like rock stars. For their first dance Candice and Matthew chose Ray Charles version of Georgia. They embraced each other on the dance floor under the massive chandeliers. For dinner Bold American served up shrimp and grits, steak, grilled chicken, pasta, mashed potatoes and broccolini.
The following day the two attorneys, with passports in hand escaped to Belize in Central America, for some well needed down time. Their Biltmore Atlanta wedding was an awesome celebration and party. Here are some of our favorite photographs. To view other wedding at the Biltmore Ballrooms click here. It was a delight to have been chosen as their wedding photographers and we are grateful for the opportunity to document their wedding day in pictures.
