Atlanta Engagement Session Spots Woodruff Park
Downtown Atlanta's Woodruff Park is one of our favorite locations for engagement photography. With its abundance of mature trees and water fountains, this compact park is always a hit with our clients. Bordering this park is Atlanta's ubiquitous Peachtree Street, the main thoroughfare through the city. Opportunities abound for street-style photography on this side of the park.
Historic Old Fourth Ward Park
This park is a relatively new addition to our list; however, it’s already a standout. With many wide-open spaces, there are many areas around this park where we can capture a wide variety of looks. The park's centerpiece is the Clear Creek Basin which features an elevated walkway and a fountain. The photographs we take there will undoubtedly become a highlight of your images. The park’s proximity to the Atlanta Beltline and Ponce City Market makes it even more.
Piedmont Park
One of Atlanta's most prominent city parks is by far the most popular for engagement photography. Because of its size (189 acres), opportunities abound for any style of photography. Images taken at Lake Clara Meer Gazebo, which straddles the bridge over the lake, are always a hit; the lighting is soft and forgiving. At the eastern heel of Lake Clara Meer is Skyline Picture Point. Photos taken from this vantage point have a dramatic view of the Midtown Atlanta skyline. We have photographed many couples at Park Drive Bridge on the northeast corner of the park, a historic landmark that is over 100 years old. Another of our favorite spots in the park is on the inside edge of the Active Oval across from Greystone. This location lends itself to photographs with a backdrop of the midtown skyline or simply, but very dramatically, of the open sky. On the northwest border of the park is The Atlanta Botanical Garden. All in all, our customers are always delighted with the results when they choose Piedmont Park for their engagement portraits.
Little Five Points
A Little Five Points Engagement session is a great option for something a little edgier. This spot is one of Atlanta’s hippest neighborhoods, just east of downtown, straddling the Fulton and Dekalb county line. The eclectic architecture makes this area an excellent backdrop for exciting and very different engagement photographs.
17th Street Bridge
This bridge, the gateway to Atlanta’s Atlantic Station, is an ideal setting for beautiful romantic photographs. Its impressive 830-foot expanse means there are several spots from which to capture gorgeous Atlanta skyline views. The architecture of the bridge itself provides beautiful tricks of lines, lights, and angles that lead to classic engagement photos. Many couples begin their sessions in nearby locations and choose to end with a romantic sunset shoot on the 17th Street Bridge.
Ponce City Market /Atlanta Beltline
This area of Atlanta is a great choice for couples looking for a mix of the main charms of Atlanta life. This is a lively area, with ever-changing graffiti-covered walls, official and unofficial art installations, vibrant colors, and soft evening light. Creating romantic memories is easy here, whether we photograph you on the trail at Ponce City Market that runs over Ponce de Leon Avenue, under the vibrant colors of underpass at North Avenue, or on the walking and bike trails of the Beltline. Better yet, why choose? Sample them all.
Jackson Street Bridge
This bridge is touted as providing the best view of the downtown Atlanta skyline, and those reviews are spot on. Once a secret, now famous for a scene in the Walking Dead, the Jackson Street Bridge is ideal for a photography session. There is not a lot of traffic, and it has a low rail which offers an incredible, unobstructed view of the skyline. Standing in on Jackson Street and looking forward into the city is a great place to mark the beginning of the journey you and your partner are about to embark.
Virginia Highlands
A lively neighborhood featuring distinguished architecture, skyline views, graphic wall art charming homes, the Virginia Highlands area is a lovely choice for a casual photo shoot. You cannot resist relaxing and enjoying our session as you wander along the tree-lined streets, sidewalk cafes, and lakes. The engagement photographs we take in this location will genuinely reflect the love that has blossomed and brought you to this moment.
Krog Street Tunnel
Another edgy, sexy, urban location is the Krog Street Tunnel, and it is an excellent spot for artistic photographs that showcase your fun side. The attraction of this location goes beyond the colorful graffiti-lined tunnel. The tunnel contains several fascinating architectural features that will make your engagement photographs unique, and we know them all.
Mercedes Benz Stadium
Show off your Falcon fandom by adding a stop at this stadium to your engagement photo locations.
Centennial Olympic Park
Self-declared as the “Destination for Inspiration,” Centennial Olympic Park is a great location to express your playful and romantic side. Our couples enjoy spending time here near twilight when we can take the most beautiful engagement photographs against features such as the view of the Skyview Ferris Wheel, the beautiful fountain, and the Atlanta city line.
Stone Mountain Park
With 3,200 acres of natural beauty, Stone Mountain Park is a treasure trove of perfect spots for romantic engagement photos. In our experience, some of the most picturesque spots at the park include the Washington W. King Bridge leading to Indian Island, The Covered Bridge, he century-old Grist Mill and the mountain itself. Perhaps you have your own favorite locations in the park, where you have created memories or would like to make some new ones through your engagement session.
